    Drag your .docx file onto the page or select it from your device. The older .doc format is not supported, so save it as .docx first.

How do I add a watermark to a Word document without Microsoft Word?
Upload your .docx file to Watermark.ws, add a text or logo watermark in the editor, and download the stamped document. It works in any modern browser, with no Microsoft Word, Office license or other software. Only .docx is supported, not the older .doc format.
Can I watermark a multi-page Word document?
Yes. On Premium and Ultimate the watermark appears on every page. The free Basic plan covers the first page, so you can check how it looks first.
Can I batch watermark multiple Word documents at once?
Yes, on Premium: add several documents to one edit and apply the same watermark to all of them. You can mix Word documents with PDFs, photos and videos in the same edit.
Can the recipient remove the watermark?
The document stays an editable .docx with the watermark in the page header, so someone with Word can edit the header. When a copy should not be changed, watermark a PDF instead.
Will the watermark cover the text in my document?
You control the opacity and position. A low opacity, around 15–30%, placed diagonally across the page reads as a background mark and leaves the text easy to read.
